Our whole family has been active in dogs in one way or another since 1966. My husband brought home a St. Bernard puppy and in a short time it grew and grew and GREW!!!!

    To keep her under control I took her through obedience and at graduation the judge said "I think you should take her to confirmation shows" so we packed up our toddler daughter and took the dog to a match were she won the breed and a Group 1 and of course a "trophy" (that I'm sure came out of a gum ball machine). Needless to say " We were hooked, line and sinkered" into the dog world.

   While campaigning our Saint in 1973 the Hound Group was going in the ring and I saw this magnificent creature called an Afghan. I was hooked again!! 1973 gave us our first Afghan puppy that I finished very quickly and her brother soon followed. We have all been involved with Afghans, breeding, showing and judging since that time.

   My first introduction to a Chinese Crested was a little feisty bitch named "Beanie Sue" and of course I was in love again !!!

   After a few years of talking to many Crested breeders we were very fortunate to meet Phyl and Joe Rachunas. I had been looking for a while when Phyl called me and said she had this little male puppy that we should see. She sent us a picture and when my husband opened the envelope and saw this little guy he said "I think we found our Crested"!

   Thanks to the Phyl & Joe for entrusting us with Ch.SanuChar Pat Hand. (his friends call him "Bert"). He is the love of my life, he owns me, shares our bed and our home along with 5 other crested.

After all these years our daughter has attended shows since she was a toddler in my husbands arms. I guess the apple does not fall far from the tree since she has the same love of all these dogs as her Dad and I.

Maria and I chose 'WinCrest' as our kennel name and hope to continue to breed and show quality dogs, while meeting many new Crested friends.
